Planner:
Biography
I was born and raised a Hoosier.
My interest in planning was first sparked
when I spoke with a community planner from
Indianapolis. She explained the duties
and responsibilities of a practicing planner.
I later applied and was accepted to the
College of Architecture and Planning at
Ball State University. While at Ball
State, I became a member of the American,
Student, and the Indiana Planning Associations.
I have been involved with writing
and developing neighborhood, corridor and
economic development plans for understaffed
towns and cities across Indiana. During
my senior year, I interned with the City
of Hammond's Planning Department. In graduate
school, I was employed through Ball State
and worked in their Community Outreach Program
(COPC). I'm particularly interested
in both land-use planning and reinvestment/renovation
of urban and rural spaces. I'm fascinated
with the advancements in the technological
side of planning, and enjoy working with
statistical and GIS software packages.
